On a beautiful day for football, Dunbar were made to rue missed opportunities as they let 3 points slip through their hands after leading 2-1.
The size of turrawul park made it difficult to play the expensive football we had come to expect from the premier and they had to adapt to the small field.
Redfern started the brighter but were restricted to "long range" efforts until a lapse in defence gifted their first real opportunity which redfern duly despathed. 1-0 Redfern. This seemed to jolt the premiers into action and Craig Trotter equilized with an accomplished finish to make it 1-1. Dunbar were on top now and creating chances but redfern to their credit were trying to get the ball down an play as well. Their performance showed that they will be a handfull for other teams in this division, especially at home.
Hemmingway got his customary goal with a header from 12 yards after a great cross from the right. 2-1 Dunbar. Then chances came and went and Dunbar just could not get the goal their play deserved and at 2-1 there was always that niggly feeling that Redfern could snatch a goal.....which they did with 15 minutes remaining. Corner not cleared and the ball fell to redfern 2-2.
That was not Redferns only chance and Bannie had to make some smart stops in the Dunbar Goal. Dunbar did have the majority of opportunities though and had a goal chalked off for offside but just could not get the 3 points.
