| Dunbar Cambodia win again |
Dunbar Cambodia’s U13 lads after winning the PWC tournament in Phnom Penh last month. Look at their proud expressions.
Rated by the local pundits as quarter finalists at best, our Dunbar lads got through the pool stage with some hard fought encounters that went down to the wire.
Their passage though the quarters and semis again defied the form guide to land our feisty lads place in the PWC Cup final against the in form FABBAs Tigers. The crowd’s comments of annihilation appeared justified as Dunbar conceded two goals early on and go to half time 0-2 down. Clearly our Dunbar lads had heard about the big boys of Dunbar Prems 2011 grand final in Sydney and marched back on to the field with chests out and heads held high. They backed themselves with two quick goals at the start of the second half, catching the Tigers unaware. This new inspiration gave Dunbar the better of the last quarter with our centre forward clinching the winner in the dying minutes.
True Dunbar Style. Four years ago, collecting from the rubbish tips, now winning silverware.
Dunbar Rovers has sponsored our teams from the town of Battambang since 2008. Through voluntary donations, Dunbar supports their football program for coaching, kit, transport, boots & equipment. The ISF Foundation uses football to bring something special to the underpriviledged kids from one of the poorest regions of the world. www.indostarfish.org/football.
